What are the 6 Important concepts in biology?
1. Unity and Diversity 2. Interactions 3. Structure and Function 4. Continuity 5. Homeostasis 6. Change Through Time
Explain Homeostasis
Homeostasis is maintaining internal balance to allow an organism to survive temporary changes in it's environment. Without it, periods of drastic weather and temperature changes would cause extinction.
Ex: The human body is maintained at 37 degrees Celsius for optimal operation regardless of the outside temperature.
Explain continuity
All living things die, but if the organism is successful, it's genes will be passed on to the next generation.
